Shepherd Offshore Comments:

“In the build-up to this project, communication was essential between client and Shepherd Offshore to ensure logistical and organisational success in receiving an entire factory including machines and parts from Tonsberg, Holland. Planning was also essential to ensure receipt, movement, and storage of bespoke shaped and weighted machinery.

Shepherd Offshore coordinated to receive, offload and store 22 individual means of transport which were filled with multiple items. This also involved offloading of a vessel, the Wilson Monsoon, with machinery pieces, weighing up to 60tonne. Many items and machinery pieces required specialist knowledge and equipment to handle which we provided alongside a wide scope of plant and equipment. It was also requested upon receipt to offer and conduct testing on the equipment transported which was done safely and efficiently.

It was concluded that whilst offloading machinery for Bridon International we could also work alongside Bring Cargo As, to utilise the then empty vessel. As such we coordinated the loading of two Bridon reels, weighing a combined weight of 233tons. This was done with the pre-panning to berth the vessel where we could discharge the machinery and transport straight from the factory to vessel using their Roll on Roll off the system and then use our mobile crane. Working hard, the team successfully supported our clients on each stage of the project and fulfilled all scopes of work. Job well done to all involved for this complex logistical project.”

Thanks to the SOL team for providing the pre-arrival support and facilities to offload and receive 22 full truckloads of random machine parts many of which required specialist knowledge and equipment to handle. SOL has also provided a facility to potentially store this large volume of equipment for the next 3 years.

Loadout complete to the scope of work, thank you for working with BBRG for the machinery as this was critical to the loadout. DUE to SOL supplying manpower and equipment to work overtime during the evening the vessel was able to depart as per schedule.
