Dry Dock Development (Ongoing)
Tolent / O'Briens / Elliot Associates / Southbay Civil Engineering
Operation Type: Deep Water Test Tank
Description of Scope: Operating at a length of 56m, width of 38m and up to 12m deep, the Test Tank offers a volume of 25.536 cubed to the top edge of the tank. The new quay frontage extends 50m across the existing Engine Works Quay. Whilst a large proportion of the dock will be infilled, a section at the entrance will be left to test bespoke subsea and offshore industry equipment. The design of a new heavy load pad and routes permit the CC4800 Crawler Crane access for a range of different projects. Upon completion, the Test Tank will be the largest in Europe.
