Swans Energy Park Decommissioning Permit
Shepherd Offshore are delighted to announce the confirmation of our Decommissioning Permit being approved by the Environment Agency for Swans Energy Park.
The permit will enable Shepherd Offshore’s Swans Energy Park to operate the decommissioning facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for licensed capacity up to 120,000 tonnes of waste per annum. The range of permitted wastes includes complete oil and gas platforms to a variety of vessels, and associated plant and equipment. Additionally, the site can treat and manage a wide range of wastes, including metals, PCBs, contaminated sediments, and WEEE products. The decommissioning facilities receive direct support from the recently improved West Quay, which features heavy load pads, deep-water access, and heavy road vehicle routes. Shepherd Offshore provides heavy lift crane capability and offers in-house structural engineering and dedicated QHSE management services.
This is a huge milestone in the development of the former Swan Hunters site, with key access to sites such as Dogger Bank and Firth of Forth. With the completion of the new quay frontage, this is a very exciting time for the opportunities which we will look to offer to the oil/gas and offshore wind markets.
This also presents a fantastic opportunity for co-locating to Swans Energy Park, while also creating employment opportunities, allowing new bespoke projects.
